台東人工輔助生殖大突破，台東40歲江女結婚2年未順利懷孕，夫妻經評估及諮詢，決定接受台北、台東馬偕兩院合作試管嬰兒療程，日前誕下1健康女寶寶。台東馬偕醫院表示，大部份治療都可先在台東完成，減少舟車往返時間，至今已協助2名台東婦女順利懷孕生產。

台東馬偕表示，試管嬰兒的生殖中心都在西部及北部，身受不孕之苦的台東婦女都要千里迢迢奔波至外縣市就醫，長時間、長距離且頻繁返診，且試管嬰兒也不一定一次成功，經常造成個案夫妻筋疲力盡，求孕之路艱辛。
