張適恆在YouTube頻道PO出影片指出，蔥屬蔬菜含多種能抑制癌細胞的有機硫化物與植化素，例如槲皮素和類黃酮，大型流行病學研究顯示，每天吃最多蔥屬蔬菜的人，罹患胃癌、頭頸癌、食道癌、大腸癌、肺癌、攝護腺癌、乳癌風險都會降低，幾乎是降低各種癌症風險，且在癌症間呈現相當一致結果，不是只降低一種癌，這大概暗示著蔥屬蔬菜，具有優於其他蔬菜的防癌能力。
