2026世界棒球經典賽（WBC）奪冠大熱門美國隊，昨（11）日以6：8爆冷輸給義大利，能否晉級8強出現變數，賽後總教練戴羅沙（Mark DeRosa）坦言，他以為美國隊已經晉級，因此賽前讓多名主力球員輪休，沒想到現在卻釀成大禍，導致現在必須看今日墨西哥與義大利之戰決定，如果墨西哥以低得分擊敗義大利，美國就將被淘汰。
今早的墨義之戰將決定美國隊能否晉級8強，若義大利順利贏球，將和美國一起晉級，不過如果是墨西哥拿下勝利，那美國、義大利、墨西哥的成績都是3勝1敗，得靠比失分率來決定誰晉級。
